About Gemma

Gemma Quinn is a portrait artist based in London, UK.

A Maths graduate working as a statistical modeller by day, Gemma began painting portraits in 2021 — inspired by the connection to others it allowed at a time of enforced distance.

For Gemma, to paint someone is to foster the interpersonal connections with the people who have shaped her life, or to begin new relationships with those who inspire her. Each portrait exists as a consequence of that connection — making every piece deeply personal and one of a kind.

Following several years of self-teaching, Gemma recently completed a ten-week course at The Art Academy, London.
